Megan is The Old Oak's artist for the month of February and we couldn't be more excited to have her! On her website, Megan talks about finding art again last year and

"bring creativity to the forefront of my life.”

She describes her love for art starting as a young child,

"with my magnificent box of 64 hues of crayons (complete with a sharpener in the back!) Art was always my favorite subject in school, and I was honored to be accepted into Virginia Commonwealth University’s prestigious art program way back in 1985. After graduation, I dabbled in commercial art until my first baby arrived, and then I turned my talents to painting childrens’ furniture, wall murals and numerous canvases gifted to loved ones. The greater the strains of “making a living” became, the less time was devoted to my art..

Then after an Muse Workshop in France in 2019, it lit a spark in Megan's creativity and she started Megan Gael McCarthy Art in January of 2020.
